How does OVA work?

Ova is essentially a group looking to improve the political climate for small to mid-size wineries in Ontario. To this end we seek members to help us determine our directions. OVA feels that all small to medium size wineries in Ontario should stand together, and welcomes those from other provinces to join us as well. We feel that if enough small to mid-size wineries across Canada stay in touch that a better political climate for smaller producers will result.

OVA defines a winery as any business holding a production license, or individuals/businesses who have made significant investments leading to the establishment of an upcoming winery.

We work as follows:

1) we periodically request that our members list the political problems that they find in the wine industry.

2) we collect the answers, and compile a list of the concerns.

3) The Board of Directors works on the proposed press releases and we send them to everyone who will listen, plus all Ontario MPP's and many contacts within the greater press.

4) The President chooses the final wording of the proposed information release.

5) the release will be published on this website once approved.

OVA will also work on other initiatives - such as the many specialty maps on this website, on limited marketing initiatives and on contacting and making connections with groups and individuals who have similar goals.
